Osaka Amazing Pass! A great pass for beginners.

Osaka City

As it is mentioned in the tittle, Osaka Amazing Pass is surely stand for the name. The pass covers not only (mostly) Osaka public transport and (mostly) free admision to popular tourist spot, with only 2.800JPY for 1 day and 3.600JPY for 2 day pass. You see that I put “mostly” in bracket there because it is true, you can get the pass included with free ride in Osaka Metro and a lot of free entry to popular attraction. I will share my experience with this pass when I visited two most favourite spots in Osaka : Umeda Sky Building Kuchu-Teien Observatory and HEP Five Ferris Wheel.

Before I started my trip to Osaka, I discovered this pass and started to dig deep. I bought this pass from Klook and look for more detailed information through the main website here. I noticed that the 1-day pass and 2-day pass has slight difference in transportation mode. I took the 1-day pass since it covers unlimited ride on Osaka Metro and private railways all over Osaka. Just by taking some trips I got the benefit of the pass compared to paying for each ride. Just remember that this is a day pass (not 24 hour pass) so it only valid from the first to the last service within a day.

Umeda Observatory Entrance

With Osaka Amazing Pass you can enter Umeda Sky Building Observatory for free, but only if you arrive before 15:00 on that day. After 15:00 with the Osaka Amazing Pass you get 20% discount price. The normal price for admission is 1.500JPY.

In my experience, I got 5 minutes late because of the long queue line. The queue line start from the 3rd floor before the elevator. The elevator will bring you to the sky lobby where they will validate your ticket.  Luckily the free admission was still granted although the timestamp showed 15:05. So be sure to come early for the long queue line.

Osaka Night View

The view from the observatory was magnificent. It was clear evening sky that day, so we could see the transformation of Osaka City from day to night cityscape. The lower part of the observatory is an indoor space, where the upper deck is an outdoor space. So expect the strong wind if you are going to the upper deck.

Not so far from Umeda Sky Building, there is a famous red ferris wheel called HEP Five Ferris Wheel. It can be reach by walking for around 20 minutes. The ferris wheel is located on top of HEP Five shopping mall, so after visiting the ferris wheel you can chill on the shopping mall below.

Since the ferris wheel is located inbetween high rise building, the view from above is quite unique. It was very interesting to see the citylife from above where the point of view was not so that high. I think it is one of the must visit attraction when visiting Osaka.
