Japan trip : Jakarta - Osaka

Japan is one of the country that you always want to comeback to even after countless of times returning. It is always facinating from the culture itself, the food, the architecture, and you can say everything about Japan has its own charm. For this trip we were flying on mid November from Jakarta (CGK) to Osaka (KIX) via Singapore (SIN) as we flew with Singapore Airlines.

The flight from Jakarta to Singapore took 1,5 hours and from Singapore to Osaka took about 7,5 hours. We took a night flight so we could sleep during the flight and arrived in Osaka 7 in the morning. Everything went smooth during the flight. Food was nice enough and flight attendants were very accomodative. The cabin temperature was also good, not too cold for a night flight.

Arriving in Osaka, it was already quite cold since it was shifting from autumn to winter. The airport was like a normal airport, nothing really special. Immigration process also went very smoothly, plenty of officers and they worked very fast. There is a new method for immigration and custom process which requires each person to register online through Visit Japan Web.

It was a normal airport setup except The Japanese hospitality culture which there will always be one staff in the baggage claim that take cares of the luggages on the belt and rotates the handle outwards so the owner can easily grab the bag and leave. Amazing. You can only find this things in Japan!

Japan’s public transportation is one of the best in the world. There are so many options of public transport from airport to city center. Also ticketing store open from very early morning, so it was not a problem from early arrival passengers. So the first thing that we did was exchanging all the transportations ticket; Osaka Amazing Pass, Nankai Limited Express Rapi:t, and JR Pass ticket + advance reservation tickets on some shinkansen trains (yes you can make advance ticket reservation up to 30 days). Since it was early in the morning, not many people queue in the ticket office. After exchanging all the train tickets, we went to Nankai train platfrom and in took the train to Namba Station.
