One thing that you need to see in Japan is TeamLab art installation. One of them is in Osaka : TeamLab Botanical Garden Osaka. This is a permanent installation since July 2022 inside Nagai Botanical Garden, a large park with a medium size lake. The easiest way to go to this place is through Osaka Metro Midosuji line and stop at Nagai Station. From the station you can walk around 10-15 minutes.

The ticket cost 1.800JPY per person. It is better to buy ticket in advance to secure your spot. I bought my ticket through Klook and at the entrance I just need to show the ticket through the app and they would scan it. There is also TeamLab application that you can download to your phone if you need better understanding about the installation concept.

TeamLab is known for their surreal installation with interaction through light, sound, and the environment itself as their medium. This outdoor installation feels like we were transported into video game world, which some of the scenes were really have video game feeling. The garden itself really help to strenghten this feeling. It is really hard to imagine without experience it by yourself.

I would recommend you to visit this site if you are visiting Osaka. This installation is one of a kind and probably only works in the Nagai Botanical Garden. It is very easy to lose time wandering around inside as it is a very huge garden. Maybe you should put the garden at the end of your day itinerary.
